Jiangxi Normal University (JXNU) is a university co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, as well as a participant in the Foundation Enhancement Plan for Higher Education in Central and Western China. The university integrates ten major academic disciplines: philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, natural sciences, engineering, management, and arts. It is located in Nanchang, the capital city of Jiangxi Province, which is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage and often referred to as a place of treasures of nature and outstanding talents. The university has a significant influence on the political, economic, cultural, and social development of Jiangxi, and has been designated by the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government as a key provincial (teacher-training oriented) university enjoying priority in development. The university currently has two campuses, i.e. Yaohu Lake Campus and Qingshanhu Lake Campus, covering an area of over 233 hectares, with a total building area of more than 1.4 million square meters.
